SHAUMARI WILDLIFE RESERVE
HOME TO THE ENDANGERED ARABIAN ORYX
The Shaumari Wildlife Reserve was established for the reintroduction of indigenous wildlife by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature. The reserve covers 22 square km of land in the Azraq region, and is home to the endangered Arabian Oryx, blue-necked ostrich, the wild ass (Persian onagers), as well as various species of gazelle. Vehicle tours and special viewing platforms allow visitors to see the animals roaming freely in the reserve ( temporarily closed for renovation ).
