HALF DAY EXCURSIONS

MADABA & MOUNT NEBO
Madaba the “City of Mosaics” renowned for its magnificent collection of Byzantine mosaics found in its churches and homes, the most famous of which is the 6th century AD mosaic map of ancient Palestine which covers the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Visit also the Church of the Apostles with its beautifully decorated mosaic floors and Madaba’s Archaeological Park. Proceed to Mount Nebo, believed to be the site of Moses’ burial place and from where he viewed the Holy Land. Enjoy the excellent sweeping views over the Dead Sea and on a clear day one may also see the rooftops of Jerusalem & Bethlehem.

MUJIB NATURE RESERVE
Enjoy a delightful 2-3 hour moderate hike along the “Siq Trail” of the enchanting Mujib Nautre Reserve, wading through water filled canyons, crystal-clear pools and scrambling over boulders till you reach a lovely waterfall (Open April till October inclusive & subject to closure depending on weather conditions).

THE DEAD SEA
One of the most extraordinary places on earth where you may enjoy a unique experience of swimming (floating) ethereally on its saline waters without exerting any effort. The remarkably unique therapeutic properties of its mineral-rich salty waters and mud, makes it an exceptional natural spa.

BETHANY
Enjoy a visit to Bethany, one of the most sacred biblical sites in Jordan, where the Lord Jesus Christ came 2,000 years ago, to be baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist and where Prophet Elijah is said to have ascended into heaven in the 9th century BC, on a chariot of fire.

AMMAN
Half day tour of the capital Amman to include a visit to the Citadel with its panoramic views over the old part of the city, the 2nd century AD Roman Theatre in downtown Amman, and a visit to The Royal Automobile Museum which reviews the eventful life of the late King Hussein through his cars and motorcycles, showcasing part of Jordan’s history (the museum closes on Tuesdays).

Full day tour of the capital Amman to include a visit to the Citadel, the 2nd century AD Roman Theatre and a stroll through the old bustling downtown souk (market). Continue to Jabal Amman and stop at Wild Jordan which promotes items produced by rural women in the different nature reserves and offers spectacular views of the downtown area. Explore Rainbow Street on foot, stopping at Jordan River Foundation and at Hammam el-Pasha Turkish bath with its beautiful garden courtyard. Drive through Abdoun, a contemporary residential area popular amongst the locals and finally visit the Royal Automobile Museum which reviews the eventful life of the late King Hussein through his cars and motorcycles, showcasing part of Jordan’s history (the museum closes on Tuesdays).
